[edit] Gill Tract Appreciation Gathering

  • Sunday, November 4, 10am-2pm.

The Gill Tract is the largest urban agricultural site in the East Bay. For decades the GT has been devoted to research in sustainable agriculture, but now the University of California is planning to develop the entire site into grocery stores, softball fields and housing.

Come by on Sunday to get in touch with the site, learn about what still goes on out there and help with the final tomato harvest. Bring your own harvest box if you want to take home tomatoes.

The Gill Tract is located at: 1050 San Pablo Ave., Albany, CA, 94706 cross-street is San Pablo at Marin

The entrance is a big gate that will likely be locked when you show up -- just holler and someone will come up the road to let you in. Please please don't jump the fence.
